The results show that its crystal structure is hexagonal system (P63\/mmc) with lattice constants of a\u00a0=\u00a0b\u00a0=\u00a03.43\u00a0\u00c5, c\u00a0=\u00a017.35\u00a0\u00c5. The Vickers hardness, flexural strength, Young&#8217;s modulus, thermal expansion coefficient, and thermal conductivity of HE(5RE1\/5)Al3C3 are 13.2\u00a0\u00b1\u00a00.5\u00a0GPa, 148\u00a0\u00b1\u00a015\u00a0MPa, 375\u00a0GPa, 8.21\u00a0\u00d7\u00a010<sup>\u22126<\/sup>\u00a0K<sup>\u22121<\/sup>, and 10.98\u00a0W\u00a0m<sup>\u22121<\/sup>\u00a0K<sup>\u22121<\/sup>, respectively. The residual Young&#8217;s modulus of HE(5RE1\/5)Al3C3 remained approximately 83\u00a0% of its room temperature value even at 1500\u00a0\u00b0C Additionally, compared to YAl3C3, HE(5RE1\/5)Al3C3 has a high Debye temperature (921\u00a0K) and a high initial oxidation temperature (980\u00a0\u00b0C).
