Physical and mechanical properties of YB2C2, such as Young&#8221;s modulus (207GPa), shear modulus (87GPa), bulk modulus (116GPa), Vickers hardness (4.2\u00b10.3GPa), three-point flexural strength (460\u00b110MPa), and fracture toughness (4.6\u00b10.1MPa\u00b7m1\/2) were characterized.
